Tales and exploits of pirates have long been romanticized in song, book and film. My introduction to pirate lore came at an early age when I was given the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. As I read, and re-read this classic novel,I became enthralled by the idea of treasure maps, buried gold, and pirate life. The thrills, danger, intrigue and colorful characters in this book made my imagination run wild. To a youngster this was pure adventure! Composing 'Pirates' allowed me to capture that feeling of excitement and adventure: the danger, despair, and triumph of good over evil. Please enjoy 'Pirates'
