Light in the Mourning was written during a short grieving period of my life. As a composer, this time was musically and artistically fruitful. This piece was set for string orchestra, which is such an emotionally evocative ensemble. My hope is that this piece will cast light into the mournful and sorrowful chasms of the heart; to shine joyous light into the ears of each patron and performer.
