Oriental Poem and Dance was written in 1986 and contains some elements of Arabic folk music. First performed during the Festival, "The Moscow Autumn", November 17, 1987, in the Gnessin Institute Great Hall (now the Academy of Music), by the special Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense under Anatoli Mukhamedjan. With beautiful melodies and harmonies, this piece will add great color and depth to any mature group's program.
