Written in memory of percussionist Ryan Camden, Drums on the Village Green is based on the John Wyeth hymn tune "Nettleton" more popularly known as "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." The opening measures present the tune in chorale style, while a middle section in the style of a Scottish dance features field drums with the hymn tune overlaid in the brass. The piece quietly ends with echoes of a field drum in the distance.
