Licensing for physical audio cds. A MECHANICAL LICENSE is intended for any sale or use of physical Audio CDs and/or .mp3 audio files on an audio compact disc or CD. This would include giving physical audio cds to students or parents of a high school or middle school band or community band or any performing ensemble, band or orchestra.
To be clear, if you wish to provide a download of a musical performance of any TRN publication for your students, that would be considered streaming content which is a completely different license. Any audio and/or video downloads for any purpose is considered streaming content. A Mechanical license is considered to be a physical audio cd, NOT a download.
