Chromarag

One of the more overlooked but important aspects of developing a good technique on a string instrument is the mastery of chromatic intervals and passages. In Chroma Rag I wanted to give the developing string player an opportunity to work on these chromatic intervals and passages in a musical setting that would be enjoyable as well as building this necessary skill set. I chose ragtime for this musical setting setting as this is also an overlooked area for string players. This also gives them an opportunity to work on the syncopated rhythms associated with this genre of music.
