A hobbit is an imaginary being similar to a person but smaller and with hairy feet. These fictional characters are peaceful and good‐hearted with a fondness for farming, socializing, and above all things, eating. Legend has it that hobbits enjoy 6 meals a day, but it is the simple foods they only prefer (meat, bread, cheese, tea). This piece takes you on a journey of an ordinary hobbit through the magical realm of middle earth.
March of the Hobbits utilizes a small range of notes and is a perfect selection for a young band’s first concert. Students playing the tenor saxophone and horn part can choose which notes to play when they are split in octaves.
