Impressions on an Old Swedish Air uses an ancient Swedish folk song melody that is best known for its connection with Carl Gustav Boberg's 1885 poem "O Store Gud" (O Great God). The 1930's English translation of Boberg's poem by Stuart K. Hine ("How Great Thou Art"), coupled with this same melody, has become one of the most popular hymns of all time.
