Arabian Dance is dedicated to my former band directors, Arden Keen and John Thompson. This exciting work uses the melodic motif from Camille Saint-Saens Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah. This work is guaranteed to send your listeners and students to the Arabian desert where they can visualize encountering camels, sand, flying magic carpets and even a genie or two. The beautiful middle section features a lush alto saxophone solo. So, sit back and hold on as we head to the land of Pharaohs, pyramids, and Egyptian secrets.
