The Pride of the Lions was commissioned by Mr. Jimmie Exline and the New Deal (Texas) High School Lion Band. It was premiered by the NDHS Band at their U.I.L. Band Contest in April 2000. Written in the traditional march style, THE PRIDE OF THE LIONS can be effectively performed by bands with limited instrumentation. It is an ideal addition to any concert/contest program.
