Bennette, Kelly
Mr. Kelly Bennette was born in Port Arthur, TX. in July of 1962. He grew up in Groves and is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. After high school he enrolled in Lamar University, Beaumont, TX. as a music major.
Mr. Bennette played in the Beaumont Symphony Orchestra for nine years and was tubist for the Lamar Faculty Brass Quintet for six years. He was the director of the Lamar Jazz Band B for three years.
He has taught band, choir, and elementary music in East Texas for many years. He currently serves as principal tubist for the East Texas Symphonic Band, Longview, TX, as well as keyboardist for the Frontier Cowboy Church Band in Ewell, TX. Mr. Bennette has composed several dozen concert band pieces, a setting of the Mass(Episcopal Rite 1) for choir and organ, several pieces for tuba, and nearly eighty marches.
