Carter, Charles

Charles Carter, Resident Arranger for the Florida State University Bands since 1953, is nationally known as a composer and arranger of band literature and has more than 100 published works, many of which are familiar to most high school musicians. Mr. Carter received his bachelor's degree from Ohio State University and his master's degree from Eastman School of Music. Prior to going to Florida State University, Carter was the arranger for the Ohio State University Marching Band and taught low brass at Ohio State. In 1984 Carter received Kappa Kappa Psi's Distinguished Service to Music Award.
