Lee Copenhaver is the Coordinator of Music Theory at Grand Valley State University (MI), where he teaches music theory, aural perception, orchestration and counterpoint classes. He is a cellist with the West Shore Symphony and conductor of The Westminster Winds of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids. Lee earned music education degrees from Mansfield University and Ithaca College, and degrees in cello performance and music theory from The University of Iowa, where he studied composition with Richard Hervig. He founded and conducted the Wellsboro Town Band (PA), and resurrected the Iowa City Community Band.
