David Checketts received his Bachelors in Music from the University of Utah in 1998 where he studied composition with Henry Wolking and Shannon Roberts, and saxophone with Mark Ely. A nationally recognized and awarded composer, David’s first composition for band won the 1994 National Band Association Merrill Jones Memorial Young Composers Contest. David is very active as a Marching Band Arranger and Clinician and was staff arranger for the 2004 Olympic Spirit Band in Salt Lake City. David, his wife Jennetta, their son Payden and daughter Ashlyn live in the magnificent foothills of the Salt Lake Valley.
