A note to the director :
It is suggested that you do some experimenting with the placement of the brass choir. If there is a balcony in the back or at the sides of the auditorium, you might try putting them there. The effect is dramatic. Or, if in a gym, the brass choir could be put on one side of the band, or on both sides, with each section equally divided. Putting the trumpets and horns on one side of the band and the baritones, trombones, and tuba on the other side is another possibility. As much separation as possible between the band and the units of the brass choir is good, but try to avoid too much separation from the band because of the lag time, which might give you some severe precision problems. Placing the brass choir behind the band is the easiest way to perform, but the antiphonal effect might be lost.
